I grew up in the sixties and read comic books and adventure magazines. The one thing that I and everyone else growing up then remembers are the ads. Great ads like X-Ray specs and Life Size Monsters. When I ordered the X-Ray Specs I waited anxiously every day for the mail to arrive. I couldn't wait to put on those glasses and see through my flesh to my bones. And let's be honest - to see through clothes!!! And the See Through Walls ads, who didn't dream of that. Ordering my Sea Monkeys I was sure they would build a circus before my eyes and put on amazing water acrobatics when I returned home from school. |

I read Spiderman, Thor, the Fantastic Four, the Hulk, and everyday the ads would taunt me. Superman, Batman, Iron Man, and the Avengers were all accompanied by ads that could change my life. I could hypnotize anyone with the Hypno-Coin, or take over the river with the Polaris Nuclear Sub. For only $6.98!!! Unfortunately that was a lot of money for a kid back then. I could have my pet monkey perform my bidding. Live sea horses would entertain me and I could go anywhere in disguise with my fake van dyke and sideburns. I could learn the deadly fighting secrets of Dim Mak and fear no one, or get elevator shoes and tower over my friend - once the guy in the ad put on the elevator shoes he was at least 6 inches taller and his shoulders were bigger! |

These ads were a big part of my life growing up and they still are. As I got older my interests changed and so did the ads. B-Movie ads, car ads, easy money ads. I intend to get the best of them and offer them on this site. Keep checking in as we will keep expanding and adding new items. These are great to bring back memories and fun for those who were too young or too old to see them.....Although I would still like to get a pet monkey to do my bidding. Pop |
